Lee Broom completely transformed his East London studio during the London Design Festival 2013. For the third year, in what is becoming a studio tradition, the space is unrecognisable from the year before for this unique event. The must-see destination becomes the Crystal Bulb Shop, a general store complete with sawdust floor, mahogany counter and a shopkeeper. It also marks the first time the Crystal Bulb will be shown in the UK. Another manifestation of Lee’s award-winning interior design talent, the Crystal Bulb Shop is a contemporary take on an old shop with a surreal twist. Old fittings are juxtaposed against panels reflecting over 200 Crystal Bulbs. Following the hugely successful launch of The Crystal Bulb at Lee Broom’s first, Milan solo exhibition Public House at the Salone del Mobile in April, it is set to become one of the designer’s most iconic products.
